Guest Designers

Sarah Smith

Hi everyone!  I found CC about a year and a half ago, and have been addicted to it ever since, so it's certainly an honor to be a guest designer for August.

I currently live with my husband, Greg, and our two calico cats, Dusty and Lefty, near Greenville, South Carolina.  I work as an engineer, so scrapping is a much-needed creative outlet for me.  My first passion will always be photography, but I've found that scrapping has given me a chance to record the stories that go along with the pictures ... plus get to use all sorts of pretty paper ...  You know what I'm talking about.  Outside the world of ribbons and embellishments, I enjoy reading, the Discovery Channel, and traveling.

Elizabeth Bailey

I live with my husband of 6 years and 2 year old daughter in Madison, AL. I am an elementray teacher turned SAHM, and loving every minute of it! I have been scrapbooking for 4 years now, but developed a passion for it over this past year wanting to document the growth of my child.  I tend to work mostly with 12x12 layouts that have a focus on the pictures. My style tends to be linear with just a few added embellishments. Through scrapbooking I have developed a love of photography and learning all I can about taking better pictures. I recently started my own portrait photograpy business. I love being able to capture the personalities of children. I am so excited to get to be a guest designer here at Coordinates Collections this month!

Jen Inman

My name is Jen Inman.  I live in the cereal capital of the world
(can you guess where that is?) with my husband Rog and our 3 boys, Ry (10), Doug (9) and Nick (8).  They are why I scrap.  I want them to always remember their childhood, good times and bad.   Nothing gives me more satisfaction then when I hear,"remember when or remember that..." and then hear them break out in laughter. I have been memory keeping since I was in high school.

Most of the pictures of my childhood were lost and I was determined that I wasn't going to lose any more of my history.  I laugh everytime I pull out a newspaper clipping from 1990 or pictures from my college years...what memories.

After taking some time off and just recently jumping back into the world of scrapping, I am so thrilled and honored to be a part of the Coordinates Collections Design Team
.

Jenn Dubbs

Wife, mother, civil servant: some of my many roles in life...

My name is Jen Dubbs and I live in a small southern New Jersey community right outside of Ocean City .  I've been married to my husband Dan for 13 years and have an 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter.  These 3 are the main focus of my scrapbooking obsession. The birth of my son was the catalyst into the scrapping world.  I've always been involved in some sort of creative endevor all my life, but scrapping is what it's all about for me.  Within the past year I've really begun to enjoy the process.  No longer do I feel the pressure or need to scrap every picture or to be "caught up".  I now scrap what "moves me".

So I could be scrapping Christmas one day and the very next doing a beach LO, but I'm happy and I think my work reflects this...the picture has spoken to me. 2006 has been good to me...3 publishing requests(hopefully more to come) and now the honor of joining the Coordinates Collections Team!

Kimberly Madrid

My name is Kimberly Madrid and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm married to Richard, the best man on the planet, who encourages me daily. I have four children, who are my biggest inspiration and the subject of most of my work. I have been a SAHM since December 2006. I owe all things good in my life to God, and I hope to express that influence in my work and life.

I have been scrapping in some form or another since I was a little girl, when would make "wish books" full of all the things I wanted to get for Christmas. Sometimes those books were a bit ... uh ... long. These days I mostly scrap my kids and family. I don't scrap chronologically. I often scrap the same photo several times. And, I love trying out new styles, new techniques, and new ways to embellish my pages.

I've been enjoying Coordinates Collections kits for quite a while, and I'm always impressed with how well they are put together, and how many projects you can make from just one kit. Plus, the gals on the message board feel like family to me. I am honored to be a part of the Coordinates Collections team. It feels like home!

Lisa Cole

My name is Lisa Cole and I live in Puyallup , WA - a suburb South of Seattle. I am mom to my only child, Emma, who is 9, and married to Carl. I started scrapbooking when Emma was born, I love telling the stories of her life through the art of scrapbooking, and creating albums that she will cherish for many years.

That's what this hobby is all about for me – capturing moments in our lives that we never want to forget, and sharing ourselves with future generations. I love being a part of this team, I am an original design team member from the first days and first kit of this club – it's my scrapbooking home.

I look forward to sharing ideas with each of you!

Lyn Hilt

About me: Energetic, happy-go-lucky, newlywed, just *barely* 30 years old LOL, Lab lover, teacher, oldest of five siblings, godmother to a cutie!

About scrappy me: After our first Europe trip in 2003, I decided I wanted to preserve our mementos and trip photos in a fun way. I made a trip to Michael's, loaded up on cardstock, lots of patterned paper and stickers, and an album. One month later, I fell in LOVE with the album I created. While my style has become more artistic and creative, I still scrap for the same purpose: to create layouts that highlight the important moments of our lives. This is why I am so excited for this chance to be a guest designer!

About non-scrappy me: My husband and I love traveling... we've been to Europe several times and we're headed back there this Christmas. We enjoy Orlando, Atlanta, and the Outer Banks, NC as well. I am an avid reader and also enjoy cross stitching, finding craft inspiration online, playing field hockey, and photography.

Looking forward to many happy memories and creations with Coordinates Collections!

Mahlin Andersson

My name is Mahlin Andersson, I'm 27 yo and I live in the land where everyone drives a Volvo, all the girls are named Ingrid and polar bears walk the streets – Sweden .  (Ok, ok, there are no polar bears at all) I live here with my darling prince Peter, we are not married, not even engaged, but I still refer to him as DH. We have two furry babies (cats) called Andy and Fluff.

I'm working as a teacher with a class of kids (the ages 6-12 years) who has Autism or Aspergers syndrome. I just love my work, of course it's challenging sometimes but all the wonderful moments make up for it. The work we do is so important and the kids give so much of themselves.

I've been a papercrafter since I was a little kid. Everything from just plain drawing and painting to altering stuff. I found the cardmaking world with rubberstamps about 2 years ago and I started papercrafting more, serious, looking for inspiration and chatting away on message boards on forums. The inspiration online is fantastic, all the talent out there, sharing their work and ideas. It's just amazing.

I've been scrapping MENTALLY, in my mind for about a year. But I actually started scrapbooking with real paper, in real life, uploading to galleries in June this year. So I've only been a "real life" scrapper for 4 months. So I'm proud to say I'm just a newbie, learning new things every day, evolving. I use my creativity as an outlet for all my emotions and I need it to feel as good as I do.

I'm really excited, honoured and thrilled about being a part of the Coordinates Collections design team. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you a little better and sharing inspiration and ideas with you.

Melanie Bauer

My name is Melanie Bauer and I'm a recent transplant to the state of Wisconsin. I've lived in Missouri all my life until now, but am so excited to begin this new chapter of my life - I love cold weather!  I'm married to Andy, neurosurgy resident, and mom to Thomas, crazy orange tabby.  I love scrapbooking and paper crafting not only for the creative outlet but also for they many friendships I've made in the past couple of years.  The connection this "hobby" makes between people is absolutely amazing.

I'm so excited to be a part of the Collections Coordinates team and look forward to both sharing my work and enjoying yours!

Mimi Schramm

My name is Mimi Schramm and I recently moved to Indianapolis from California with my Husband Mark and my kids, David (6) and Luke (3) and Hannah (1). I have been a stay at home mom since the day David was born. I love being at home. I can't imagine any job that is more rewarding.

I started scrapbooking about 7 years ago as a way to document all the photos we had collected from the time Mark and I met. Now my scrapping is focused more on journaling and storytelling. I love to express my thoughts and hopes for my kids, chronicle what life is like for us as a family, document my own childhood memories, and remember the funny things my kids say and do. Although it has also been a thrill to have had many of my pages published over the last few years, by far the best part about my scrapbooking is the legacy of love and knowledge I am leaving for my children and family.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Coordinates Collections team and am excited about working with their fun, easy and beautiful kits!

Jennifer French

Hi there, my name is Jennifer and I live in SW Michigan next to Kalamazoo.  I have a beautiful and perfect little girl named Natalie. She was born in May 2004.  We have 3 cute and crazy dogs (2 Shihtzus and a Pug) and 2 extremely friendly cats.  I went back to college about 5 years ago to pursue my elementary education degree--I will finally graduate in April 2008!!

I started scrapping about a year after my daughter was born.  I think scrapbooking was always in me, I just didn't know where to begin.  I  remember putting pictures and brochures in an album and then I would journal on the side of the pages to help record the moments.  A picture may say a thousand words, but scrapbooking gives me the chance to creatively display and/or explain what the pictures actually mean to me.  Scrapbooking is such a fun way for me to record those major milestones, vacations, funny moments, and family; basically life in general.

I love patterned paper!  I use to hoard my scrapbook stuff for the "perfect" layout. I have come to realize that if I use my supplies then I have more room for my "new" stuff.  I really don't feel like I have a scrapbook "style."  I just do what feels right.   In my opinion, scrapbooking is the best hobby--there is no right or wrong way to do it!

I am so thrilled to be part of the Product of the Week Design Team.

Lisa Conn

My name is Lisa and I am a blessed mother of 2.  I've been married to my best friend for almost 18 years now.  We live in Florida and enjoy taking advantage of everything the Sunshine State has to offer.  I'm also mommy to 2 fur babies... our cat, Tabby and our dog, Dash.

I have been scrapping since High School, but after years of needing a real stress relief starting using Scrapping as my creative outlet.  I enjoy working in many mediums, and do everything from Simple to Freestyle.   I enjoy the freedom of just going into my scrap room and bringing memories to life and telling the story on a layout.   I enjoy more of the day to day topics for my projects, and many times will write out a full 12x12 page of journaling on the back of the layout to tell the FULL story.

I want my children to look through my Scrapbooks when they are adults are remember all those moments and realize how much they were loved and appreciated as individuals.  My wish is for everyone who looks through the books to get a real feel for the love that I have for my family and how much I enjoy life.

I love to help motivate and inspire others in taking this 'hobby' and using it as an outlet to let their souls shine.  I love teaching workshops on new techniques and sharing this passion with others.

Mary Patterson

Hey, my name is Mary and I am a devoted working mother of three beautiful children. I live with my husband, three children and our dog in Seabrook, Texas (which is about an hour south of Houston) on the bay. I have been scrap booking now for a little over five years, but I have been working and playing with art for what seems like forever. Being creative is just a part of my everyday, and I make sure that I have the time to make for it everyday. I love working with a variety of mediums and discovering new techniques to incorporate into my work. I feel that my scrapbook style is a bit contemporary, lively and colorful with just the right amount of funk added into the mix. In my scrapbook projects the subjects are usually my children and my family, but every now & again I sometimes get the urge to scrapbook myself-something that I am still learning to capture. I mostly scrap my layouts in the 8.5x11 size, but I totally love the new 6x12 sizes too. I really strive to inspire and help bring out the creativity in others through my work.

Renee Richins

My name is Renee Richins and I can be found in Tucson, Arizona along with my husband of nearly five years and my daughter who just turned two. We also have a cat, named Duncan and 75 pound lab, named Layla.

I started scrapbooking when I was in High School almost ten years ago. At that time it was all about cutting photos into shapes and using the fanciest scissors you could find. Now I am focused on scrapbooking the photos and the stories of my family, so that I don't forget how blessed I am. Although, I do enjoy the wonderful products that are out there now, in fact I enjoy them so much that I have my own scrapbook room.

Besides my love for scrapbooking, I do enjoy learning about photography, cross-stitching, watching movies, playing the piano, and attempting to cook.

I am excited and look forward to the start of the new year as a part of the Coordinates Collections design team!

Francine Linzell

My name is Francine Linzell, and I live in a small town in the North of the Netherlands.

I'm the wife of Peter, and the mom of Frank., Rob and Marlena. I've been scrapbooking for about 4 years now (or is it 5?). I started out with a bunch of stickers a friend sent me;
and although the possibilites were pretty much limited to that in Holland at the time, I was hooked for life.

My style is very simple. I scrap to tell the story of our lives. I love this time so much - the kids being little, our seasons being filled with the boys catching frogs in spring, summer barbecues, our favorite fall recipes, Christmas time. Scrapbookng to me is about making all those details meaningful - the little princess dress of my daughter hanging on her door knob or the way my son mispronounces a word. Nope, it's not earth shattering, but it's /us/ . I want to record it all, and I love taking pretty papers and pictures that mean the world to me, and spend time thinking about all the little things that make this family mine. My style is very simple, usually. I love being able to tell a story with a picture and a few carefully placed words or embellishments. My friends always tease me about how I spend more time thinking about a page then putting it together! I've been with Coordinates Collection for quite a while, and I am totally excited to be part of the creative team!
