October CC #2 - Cover Inspiration - CLOSED

Some novels just have really striking covers. Take the cover of The Friday Night Knitting Club, for example. I love the bold colors on the black background, the centered white serif letters, and the little flourish on the right-hand side.



Your challenge is to use this book cover as inspiration for your layout - use it as the basis for a sketch, use the colors, anything that inspires you!

Here's my take on the inspiration.

This was a lot of fun to work with!

The inspiration I took from the cover was:
the color scheme
the skeins of yarn, which I tried to replicate with my mats for the three pics at the bottom
and the white lettering

I was inspired by the colors of the yarn & I used three circular word stickers to mimic the three yarn bundles & I added a similar flourish on the right hand side of the page.

I thought the colors reminded me of the Rumba kit. I put black around the photos, used yellow, hot pink and green flowers, white writing and there is a florish on the right side.
